Love it. No matter how many times the cat drops it on the floor it's going to be okay and yoy don't need to clean the mess.

We made something similar back in elementary school, intended as a needle-cushion!

It was not knitted though but sewn and stuffed with cotton...

Meiheals In reply to Panartias [2017-05-13 09:58:19 +0000 UTC]

Nice!

you still have it??

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Panartias In reply to Meiheals [2017-05-13 18:11:28 +0000 UTC]

I don't think so - the pot broke almost immediatly after the thing was finished, and I never found one, that looked so nice. Also while it was a cool idea for a pin-cushion, it was a bit impractical... Β

Meiheals In reply to Panartias [2017-05-13 18:25:47 +0000 UTC]

Awww shame it broke

You should make a new one ^_^

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Panartias In reply to Meiheals [2017-05-13 19:20:49 +0000 UTC]

Hmm, I was sad when it broke...

...but I probably won't make a new one. There are other projects, I have in mind, that come first!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Meiheals In reply to Panartias [2017-05-13 19:37:41 +0000 UTC]

That is fair.
I got a million projects i want to do as well. Half of them i can't start on though.... still missing some materials MEH -_-

I would like to start on some crochet or sewing projects. It is just a hassle to set everything up and get started lmao xD

drawing is so much easier. I got everything standing ready at my desk.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Panartias In reply to Meiheals [2017-05-13 19:57:33 +0000 UTC]

I did a lot of crochet-projects when I was young. But the fabric you produce isn't as flexible as knitted ones...

...and yes, drawing is easy - that's what I love about it!Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Meiheals In reply to Panartias [2017-05-14 09:39:14 +0000 UTC]

True crochet tends to be firmer.

I don't think drawing is easy at all haha

But i try my best to improve ^_^

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Panartias In reply to Meiheals [2017-05-14 10:16:24 +0000 UTC]

I should have said, drawing is easy when it comes to the materials...

...and you already improved a great deal, judged by what you posted last.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Meiheals In reply to Panartias [2017-05-14 11:19:08 +0000 UTC]

Ah yes yes, you are right. I got all my drawing stuff ready to go.

If i want to sew i need to set up the machine and prep fabrics etc. Lots of work involved haha

Bit easier with crocheting, just need to find some yarn and a needle

Don't get me wrong, i love to crochet and sew as much as drawing and coloring.
I just feel i lack ideas these days. I don't want to make lame things because i forget the passion of creating

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Panartias In reply to Meiheals [2017-05-14 12:54:24 +0000 UTC]

Thats why I love it!

Yeah - some things take a lot of preparation time and space...

I don't know much things to crochet: covers for coat-hangers, tea- or coffee-mats, scarfs, your book-worms....

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Meiheals In reply to Panartias [2017-05-14 18:24:48 +0000 UTC]

I'm going wild in my sketchbook. A pencil and an eraser is all i need
Easy to bring with me too.

I have no plans on taking my sewing machine with me, Heavy bastard lmao xD

I tend to pick up fast when trying new stuff, but i would not dare say i am an expert in any way.
Knitting however..... The frustration is too much hahahah ^^''

It is hard enough to improve on just one hobby. I got so many that i have no real chance of settling with one and focus on that.
I need to take a "break" from a hobby when i get stuck. Nice to have something else to turn to

I do drawing, sewing, crochet, paint, paper And i got some other hobbies i would like to try when i get all the materials to actually start hehe

I have done polymer clay, decoden, all sort of jewelry. I even bought stuff to try out needle felting.
Those hobbies turned out to be bad choices for me. Not only did they turn out way more expensive than what i was willing to spend on a hobby.
But some problems with shaking hands and pains made it nearly impossible to do these hobbies

I am always game for trying new things. I love learning! Just have to accept i can't do everything i would like to ^_^

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Panartias In reply to Meiheals [2017-05-14 19:38:36 +0000 UTC]

Yes, drawing with pencil and paper is definitly "the easiest"...

...coloring comes soon after. Β

I have done some wood-carving and -burning as well as work with clay and polymer clay, a bit jewelry. A bit sewing and leather-working too. I already mentioned crocheting. I feel potography hardly counts... (My dad takes tons of photos - most of them bad or unfavorable...)

And trying something new is always fun! Β

Sadly all the little hobby-stores have died out - so no rumaging around any more - you can just order over the internet in most cases...Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Meiheals In reply to Panartias [2017-05-15 12:01:26 +0000 UTC]

I see you have been through a hobby journey like myselfΒ Β

Yeah finding hobby stores is really hard, i got none close to me. We got Panduro hobby. It is fairly priced. It is just so far away!!!Β
I usually ask my parents to drive me there in their car. So we plan it.
We go when they need to go to the giant mall panduro hobby is located in haha

I always try to save up so i can buy a lot of things when we go. I don't want to just go for one item, waste of gas and time

I think next time i will go there i need paper and some inking pens that works for alcohol markers. ^^

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Panartias In reply to Meiheals [2017-05-15 17:38:11 +0000 UTC]

Yes I tried a lot of things. I had one or two hobby books full of good ideas for DIY - projects...
...and I tried most of it!

Panduro actually sounds a bit like Panda...

And buying more things in one go makes sense too. Β

Can't wait to see your next projects! Β

niiiice!!!

I have a folder on my laptop with projects i want to try

Yeah it does sound a bit like panda hehe
If i remember correctly, we also have a company named pandora. which sells jewelry. Mega mega expensive! O_O

Need to write down what i need to get next time we go hobby shopping ^_^

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Panartias In reply to Meiheals [2017-05-16 10:31:58 +0000 UTC]

Yes - I have to look where they are, though. I think my mother - who used to be a teacher - borrowed them for inspiration! Β

Nice! Where did the material come from? The internet?!
Pandora's box /chest was the one that contained a lot of bad things, if I remember my Greek mythology right!

Shopping - lists are fun! Β

Meiheals In reply to Panartias [2017-05-16 12:54:11 +0000 UTC]

My mom took up crocheting again after i got into it. She used to crochet and knit when i was little. It is like riding a bike, you never forget. She is suuuuuuuuper fast O_O When i have made one, she has made 3 lmao xD

I find most of my projects online, i don't have many crafter friends, so can't find inspiration there. :/
Hehe yup pandoras box was filled with evil

I love to shop for hobby stuff!!!!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Panartias In reply to Meiheals [2017-05-16 15:12:08 +0000 UTC]

Hmmm - I think I can still do it, too. But I was never super fast... Β

That's a pitty! Finding stuff online is good - but not the same as sharing an idea with friends. Β

Doesn't the hobby-shop offer ideas, what to do with the stuff you buy? Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Meiheals In reply to Panartias [2017-05-16 15:24:42 +0000 UTC]

Yup! I sometimes ask them in the hobby store. Not all the time they can give me a good answer or idea though. But it happens

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Panartias In reply to Meiheals [2017-05-16 15:59:50 +0000 UTC]

Thats something at least. Or you could lurk the hobby-store to make some crafter-friends and get ideas btw. Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Meiheals In reply to Panartias [2017-05-16 16:18:43 +0000 UTC]

That is actually a pretty good idea

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Panartias In reply to Meiheals [2017-05-16 18:33:52 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! Β

When I was younger I used to roleplay - and the stores that offered RPG supplements usually had a gaming corner and a bulletin-board - so you could find groups / friends... Β

Then I don't know if Denmark has something like the "Peoples-high-school" (VHS) here in Germany: They offer courses / lessons in almost everything - and crafting courses are (together with language-lessons) among the most popular! Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Meiheals In reply to Panartias [2017-05-16 18:45:21 +0000 UTC]

Yeah i think there are classes like that, after 9th grade i gave up and from 6th till 9th i was in a special school, we only had danish, math and english. Sucks tbh!

Most of the "art" and "craft" classes you can take today, either cost a lot of money for a course of ??? months. Or you need to go to school (and be accepted in first to even get a chance)
And because of my age.... i am at the bottom of the list when they take in new students

I was thinking of finding a drawing course at some point, you never get too old to learn ^_^

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Panartias In reply to Meiheals [2017-05-16 19:52:06 +0000 UTC]

That sounds diffrent than in Germany. The VHS = Volkshochschule which I roguely translated as "Peoples-high-school" is not part of the official educational system. It is a lose organisation all over Germany that offers a wide range of courses / classes. You choose what you want. It is fairly priced and usually a lot of fun.

And it is not like a private art- or craft- accademy, where you have to be accepted. You just subscribe to the course you want - first come first serf...

Yes, I guess I'm lucky!

I'm sure you'd be aware off it, if you had something similar. In Germany the VHS are a very well known instituton!
