Esperito urged his titan to ascend almost in a straight line from the ground, and once they were at a safe height, they began to glide in circles to contemplate the situation.
Their enemies were already fighting the mother of earthquakes and her stupid suitors, in a confusing maelstrom of shapes trying to pierce each other.

The gigantic titan of the abyss had thick skin that repelled the claws of the mother of earthquakes, and with its enormous body, it protected its allies. With powerful sweeps of his tail he dispatched entire hordes of enemies, trying to trap the main threat in their serpentine body to prevent their movements. Diomedes and the serpentine dream beast hid behind, launching swift attacks against those who were careless or who went too far.
It was Diomedes who saw the falcon overhead, seconds before it plummeted towards them.

The impact of the aerial titan was felt strongly in the body of the abyssal titan, creating a wave that ran through its entire body. The giant shuddered with pain and when it tried to see its rival, it was already flying over the scene again. Karuck didn't have time for anything else, because the mother of earthquakes once again unleashed her fury on them.
The battle could get complicated then: if the falcon fell on them from time to time, causing great damage, the titan of the abyss would not be able to withstand the attacks of the mother of earthquakes and her army much longer, which meant that they had to change their strategy in middle of the battle.

Karuck looked briefly at Diomedes from a distance, and then tapped the nose of his titan, which was the place from which he had directed it until then.
The enormous beast looked at him, and he opened the jaws slightly. Karuck ran towards them, avoiding the huge insects, and entered the titan's mouth. Just a few moments later, he appeared swimming inside the transparent skull of the abyssal titan.
Connecting with the brain filaments of his gigantic companion, he concentrated and sent a signal to the serpentine dream beast, which stopped dead and looked in his direction, as it had affinity with the world of mind.
Diomedes, surprised by the attitude of his titan, also looked and saw his ally in such a strange situation. Before he could say anything, he felt within his own mind the signals that the snake was sending him from Karuck's mind:

"Diomedes, the situation is getting complicated. From now on I fight from here. I can't do it for a long time, but hopefully we will finish this fight before that."
Meanwhile, both the mother of earthquakes and Esperito interpreted their enemies' brief hesitation as weakness, and threw themselves at them. They did not touch them, as Diomedes and Karuk took their titans to opposite sides, and immediately began their counterattack. Diomedes had his Titan focus on the weak and simple minds of Mother Earthquake's army, and after a few moments, he took control of it. Before the mother earthquake could put an end to the dreaming snake, the abyssal titan threw itself to block its path, now fighting with a much more refined and powerful technique, due to the combined minds of Karuk and his titan.
Diomedes then sent his new flying army against the falcon, so that they would cling to their body and make impossible for it to fly.
The strategy worked, and before long it seemed that the tables had turned.

However, Mother Earthquake still had a strong hold on her subordinates, and managed to effortlessly drag most of them back to her side.
While this was happening, Karuk emerged from the titan's mouth, breathing heavily due to the effort and spitting out the liquid that filled the abyssal titan's skull.
Once he was free of most of the insects, Esperito decided he had had enough. He directed his beast into one of the greater cracks that had been set on fire to attract the mother earthquake, and made the falcon charge into that area with extreme force. The impact was felt throughout the battlefield, as debris from the impact flew in all directions.
One of those fragments came within inches of hitting Karuk square in the face, but it still pierced the edge of one of his ears. He put his hand to the wound, before noticing how the earth began to collapse.

They immediately began to fall into the network of tunnels of the mother earthquake, hundreds of meters deep, amid the roar of falling rocks and a huge column of dust and debris. The insects that were still clinging to the hawk freed themselves, since the snake was very deep and could not manipulate them from so far away, and with the rest, they began to fly in circles over the enormous pit full of rocks that until a few moments ago was the place where Karuck and Diomedes fought against the mother earthquake.

"We'll meet again," Esperito said, as he and his titan began to walk away from the scene, flying over the destruction. "It was a good idea to stay, I learned many of your tricks today."
