Description This piece is probably my most time consumed piece to date. I had given up at one point and left the file to sit and waste space on my hard drive..but thanks to all of those who shared their thoughts and constructive criticism throughout the making, this piece has finally been resurrected! I have developed a backstory and have hinted small bits in both the title and the work itself, but instead of sharing I'll just let you interpret how you want.

This is one of my older pieces, finished almost 5 years ago. (wow, time really flies!)
At that point, I was just starting out with backgrounds, and I do remember spending A LOT of time on the background even though, looking at it now, isn't that complicated. I guess I was lacking the balance of realism between the background and foreground, but I'd like to think that I could do better nowadays

I love the atmosphere. The dress's folds are not quite crisp enough for me. Perhaps next time you could push your darks further and try some angles instead of curves.

You're very welcome, this piece really stands out to me. The trees and sky are wonderous they really help the main character stand out too (which btw is beautiful)

Just reading through the thread and I must say I love the image how it turned out. Not only the pose makes an image powerful....her look speaks more then thousand words and this is powerful too. She is angry, upset doesn't want to be bothered at all and want to be alone with her thoughts ... the background compliments the whole scene and the birds in the foreground are just a wonderful improvement on how much you put into this art

This is such a wonderfully done piece - you have got some great potential! I love the tones you've set here - the apparent tranquility offsetting just a slight bit of edginess (lol, is that a word?). A definite The only thing I can recommend is maybe a tiny bit more highlighting on the dress around the chest and knee area - the dress seems a bit flat compared to her face - but other than that WOW!

Fine details are great, I read through the thread and am impressed by your patience!
Next time for an image like this, I'd like to see a more dynamic pose (it would be cool, since you've got painting details down ).
