As a spirit that resides in one of the oldest tree close to the forest for a very long time, Kodama is an honest soul who is not afraid to voice out what he really thinks, in spite of situations where it could often seem offensive but he usually means well with it. If you expect him to answer truthfully, he will, as he is not the type to baby or to sugarcoat things. Despite so, over the long years he has learned to tone down on his crudeness, and resorts to silence instead. (too much effort, otherwise)He is more or less a laid-back person and is generally chill in demeanor, his stoic-ness and lack of expression often making it hard for people to read him. He often goes along with things but he will be sure to step out or aside if its not something he'd agree with, as he is not afraid to say no bluntly. Simple-minded, he either says yes or no, there is no in-between (other than silence) However, with the company of little Ko's, they prove to be more expressive than Kodama himself, as they are part of him but some may have their own separate conscience.Spending most of his early years dormant in the husks of the tree he resides in, it was natural for him to be sharp and observant towards people, he tends to pick up patterns and traits unconsciously, through their actions, gesture and matter of speech to identify the type of person they are, but there lies the matter of choice if he wants to interact with them. He is also quite an old-fashioned person and prefers the old ways, although he is not opposed to learning the modern ways, and also speaks in full sentences (types in them too). He is also deemed quite reserved and lazy, finding it a hassle to exert more effort than he needs to, most of the time.
[History]Spirit of the forests has existed for as long as time can tell, as they long existed along with the forests that God created. One of them, were these tree spirits, a specific spirit guardian of the forest made to maintain the equilibrium, and they were called Kodamas. Revered as the spirit god of the trees and protector of the forest, Kodamas are spirits that existed within old, sacred trees in the forest. In those they all thrived, as they blessed the lands around the forest with vitality and green, and had many prayers coming and beings to give offerings while they all protected the humans, aevumis and spirits in the land against any evil and negative energies. The villagers eventually found the kodama-inhabited trees and decided to honor them by marking them with a sacred rope known as a shimenawa around them.Somewhere within the centuries, there was a story of a kodama that once took upon an appearance of a human, in order to meet the human that he adored very much. But then it was time around then when the corruption of the maeros started, and while the rope offered protection for him against corruption, it could not do the same for the other because they are one of the humans who have blinded themselves away due to fear of the banquet incident. Instead, the human now has been cursed by Maerosha herself, leaving Kodama severed from the human(now Aevumis) along with the cursed reincarnations. This forced an action out of Kodama, as he wouldn't sit by and watch Maerosha and her maeros destroy everything he adores, the spirits, the aevumis and the humans. After all, Kodama spirits are suppose to protect them from harm, that was why they were blessed with the power of protection.Having lived long enough, Kodama obtained enough strength to leave the forest and sustain his own form, allowing him to travel farther away from his origin tree to join the newly formed Empyreals. Being one of the dormant spirits that only watched humans from afar, the prayers from the humans never quite stopped as they kept believing in the tree spirit that they have never met, the very one that kept the village flourished and blessed. Deeming Maerosha's jealousy as unnecessary, Kodama is determined to end this alongside the many followers of the Goddess who wish the same, so they can have their peace again, or at least he would have his own peace. After all, having to watch the cursed Aevumis reborn repeatedly without their former memory and to watch them die is already enough pain as it is to endure for an old soul such as himself.
