Damnit, I should have been painting on my commission. At the moment I am painting some hair for two Na'vi characters and look, what happened - I got inspired to create my own one! May my wonderful and patient customer forgive me - it is all her fault! So babe - this is also for you and I will send the full high-res version of this one right to you, together with the commissioned piece once it is done! This guy totally distracted me!I rarely do fanart and while I really like the movie "Avatar", it is not one of my favorite ones. The Na'vi are wonderfully designed though, such as their enviroment, so I really had fun making this guy. Yup, this one is a man, even though he is rather androgynous for some reason.
So yeah... I really hope that people like this one! As I said - it was a lot of fun to create this!

avatar was a really good movie in an artist point of view, but it had a pretty plain story which has already been done alot. like i remember watching a cartoon movie as a kid with the same storyline as avatar but with fairy's and wood cutters instead of navi and humans, back to your render though,Ā

Yes yes, but not only. Almost all of my dark elves (the really black ones) are not from that universe, such as my Nagas and Tieflings!

It's the fact that you're just seeing the head; Na'vi tend to look that way unless it's a full body shot, or there is a pressing need to have them look more "normal".
He looks fantastic, by the way.
