Description Eärnil I
neleqëa aran Ondonórëo

Eärnil I was the thirteenth king of Gondor. He was son of Tarciryan, son of king Siriondil . In T.A. 913 he succeeded his uncle Tarannon Falastur , who died childless. Eärnil became the second of the great Ship-kings of Gondor: He continued with the expansionist maritime policy of his predecessor by constructing a great navy, repairing the ancient havens of Pelargir and then capturing the Haven of Umbar in 933. His reign however didn't last long; he was tragically lost at sea in 936 near Umbar and was succeeded by his son Ciryandil .

After some delay there is another of the kings of Gondor. For the next of the mighty Ship-kings I continued with the complex decoration of Tarannon Falastur. Dominant colour is again blue, representing the sea. Here you can see victorious king Eärnil after the capture of Umbar.
