Description
The sun crept over Dallas, waking Richard from his slightly boozed slumber which he rewarded himself with after a difficult day with a difficult colt. But he couldn't blame the little guy - new smells, new scenery, new everything; he would act the same if he was shoved in a cold box and dropped off in an entirely different place. But before the colt could get set in his ways, training was to be done. All Richard expected of him today was to get comfortable with the place, maybe eat a little hay or take a stroll around the pasture.
The cowboy went along his morning routine, a small breakfast, and continued on to his duty at the stable. He was met with small whinies coming from the stall and a small head poking over the opening of the stall window. Richard put a loose lead on the foal and led him to a fair sized pasture where he left him free to roam. As he exited the pasture and closed the gate the colt picked his head up with alert ears, concerned that he was being left alone. Rick came back with a small bale of fresh hay and placed it outside the stable, going back inside to grab a few toys for the pasture. When he returned, to his surprise, the little colt had pushed open the gate and found his way to the bale, happily chowing down on it. A smile crept up on Rick's face as he watched the foal eagerly eat. Thankfully, Little Ireland had come around to the place.
