Why does the feather represent superficiality? A bottle of AXE would have been better...or a magazine...remote control...a TV (ghetto old one with an antenna sticking out)
Looks awesome though. Except for the feather. (sorry...you mentioned you were ok with criticism)

Ah. Got it.
the feather stuck out to me as something that needs to be changed though. maybe it's the positioning of it--since it's just floating there. maybe a pic of a feather that is laying on the scale would be better...then again it might be difficult to see what it is in that case. (hope that's constructive and helpful)

as the visual side is absolutely stunning, I think the symbols are not so great. The beauty of art is through finding it's meaning, and not writing it down in a scheme. I see several possible meanings - either it's a Biblical motive which represents the judgment day, when the pureness of ones soul is compared to a feather, but you compared the essence of the soul to pure knowledge(wisdom in your words) which is less then enough. if you see the feather as The Superficiality - its a very long line - feather = flight = illusion of freedom = superficiality which is far off the original meaning and "stretched to". or maby I missed something. so no offence,it's just my opinion, and great job btw. contact me if you want to speak more or prove me Iām wrong;D

I think you misinterpreted the description, but that's okay because everyone should look at a work in their personal way.
Broadly speaking, I was meaning wisdom as the capacity of being rational. Pure knowledge is surely a part of it, but not the only defining aspect, as you said. I think the problem here stays in the definition someone applies to the word "wisdom"... same thing for the feather.
I'm far from writing down art and feelings in a scheme, that's impossible because the range of interpretation is subjective and broad but I specified things in the description because I wanted to share a key of lecture of the work that could be the most similar to mine.

I took a second look at it and I found it interesting because of another aspect - the weight lying on the ground behind it. I think this illusion motive matches more to what you are saying. And explains the name..

I got his point, and your point as well. ANd how you got his point through your points. Boy that's a lot of points.
The biggest thing i'd like to focus on is your points about feather. I see the opposite of his when i saw yours. in that I see Feather=flight=freedom of the soul. If you studied Buddhism and to some extent, hinduism you'd notice that Nirvana is achieved through the being of nothingness. Null is the greatest sense of achievement, to be free to expectations, superficiality, and desire is I think the key to some people. In this case, the feather is not only a subjective item like you mentioned, its also a very culturally restraint one in this case of the artist. Or better word to be personal interpretation if it's not cultural.

Love the feel/tone of the color pallette and textures. The simplicity of the concept is done well enough to convey the complexity of your perspective. Great piece.
