It’s Monday and school is rolling by slowly as per usual

Charlie and Dan were doing their usual shenanigans

Flicking rubber bands passing notes

Then brake rolled its way through Charlie and Dan headed to their usual spot where they meet up with melody, “so are we going to invite her?” Dan nudged Charlie, Charlie shrugged and said “ I don’t know maybe, I don’t know, would her dad even let her go…??”

Dan was quiet

“Fair point”

They reached their destination and Melody greeted them, as per usual.

They chatted for a bit then Charlie finally asked “hey do you wana go to our sleep over? We have one every other week and we dint want you to feel left out”

Melody nodded happily “Cool I’ve never been to one before!” then she quickly stopped “but I have to ask my dad” she rested her head on her hand and said “he’d probly say no, but I’ll still ask him”

They both looked at each other and nodded “we can come with you” Dan said “3 v 1 if we keep persisting he’ll have to say yes!”

She laughed and said “well ok”

Right after school Dan and Charlie flowed melody to her car and asked if she could sleep over with them

The dad clearly did not like this “no.” is all he said

Then Melody butted in “but dad you never let me go to these things”

The dad did not budge

A few more tries before Dan and Charlie finally got what he was getting at and Dan said

“WERE GAY”

The dad looked at him “you two are gay?”

Dan grabbed Charlie’s hand and said

“YEAH WERE PARTNERS WEVE BEEN GAY FOR 2 YEARS”

Charlie just froze and by his face alone you can tell what he was thinking

“I swear to god Dan I’m going to break your FREEKING ARM” is the best bet you could have made

The dad sighed and said “well alright” but he grabbed there neck collars and said “TRY ENYTHING AND YOU TWO ARE DEAD MEAT”

They both nodded fiercely

Then Dan gave him a piece of paper with his address on it (the place where they usually sleep over)

Melody got in the car and waved good-bye as they drove off the steam of her dad’s car trailing behind them.

Later that day just about that time when it gets dark

Melody’s dad came by to drop her off

Still eyeing Dan and Charlie

When they noticed him Dan grabbed his hand (Charlie) and waved at Melody’s dad in the girlish was he could.

When Melody got in the looked at his house in a aw

“It’s, so small”

Dan looked at her “well of course every house in this part of town is small”

They walked into one of the three rooms and sat down

While Dan walked out and came back with a board game

“This game is called lion’s tail” Dan exclaimed

“The whole purpose of this game is to get to the end of the tail that is the board” he said as he unfolded the board

He opened a little box that had all the little player pieces.

“All of them are different species, and different crafts.”

“pick one there abilities will help you later in the game” Dane explained as he nudged the box to her “every piece has something different to offer” Charlie said

Melody poured the box filled with little pieces and looked at them intently before picking a finnick healing mage.

“Really?!” Dan was surprised; he pulled out a little book with all of the pieces stats and flipped to its page

“he has the lowest everything besides intel intelligence and healing! Are you sure it’s not too late to change”

Melody looked at it closer in her paw then nodded “I’m sure!”

“Alright ...Don’t say I didn’t warn you” Dan and Charlie picked up their pieces

Charlie was a Sheep craftsman (Stats Healing 1/10 Intel 8/10 speed 9/10)

And Dan was a King Fox (stats Healing 4/10 Intel 4/10 speed 1/10)

Then they began to play

It was about an hour in before Dan and Charlie started panicking.

Melody was 1 square away from winning and they were only half way down the board and both of them were low on hp.

“Melody, have you played this before?” Dan said staring at the board.

Melody shook her head “no.” “I’ve never played this before”

Meanwhile Charlie was furious HE was always the one to win the game.

Clearly Melody caught whiff of this and said “are you ok?”

To Charlie to respond by clapping his paws and saying “never batter!” with a smile.

Melody knew how they felt so she put one of her paws under the board and then flipped it sending all the pieces into the air.

When they all came crashing down she exclaimed “NOW NO ONE WINS!”

It was quiet for a few moments before Dan and Charlie booth broke into laughter with melody joining in.

When it was time to sleep melody said she’d sleep on the other side of the room saying her dad told her to. Then, they all fell asleep.

It was about midnight before Charlie woke up feeling thirsty, so he walked into the kitchen and poured himself a glass, but as he crawled back into bed, he noticed something. Melody was gone; all her blankets were still here though.

“Maybe she’s in the bathroom” he thought to himself.

He curled up into a ball trying to get some sleep.

This went on for a hour before he noticed Melody still was not back.

He shaked Dan fiercely till he woke up

“DAN WAKE THE FRICK UP MELODY IS MISSING”

Dan got up and they immediately searched the house.

But no Melody

“Maybe she’s outside” Dan exclaimed

They booth rushed outside to find Melody in tears overlooking the city

They bout yelled “MELODY!”

She turned around clearly not expecting anyone.

“oh sorry ill come inside” she said as she started walking past them”

“Melody what’s wrong?” Dan said clearly worried.

“Its. Nothing just something stupid” she said

“MELODY WHATS WRONG” Charlie said

“I told you it’s nothing”

They looked at each other

“Well IF there is something wrong…just know. Were here”

She had a nervous laugh “ok”

“How about more of that game?” she said as she stepped inside
Charlie and Dan looked at each other confused before they joined her.
