this locomotive earns 2nd best locomotive since the nomad hydrogen locomotive from transport fever, a good looking American engine with nuclear tanks on the back, this thing has to have some of the most powerful tractive effort around.

Why not thermonuclear? It would be safer. But work is good.

Thanks man. The design isn't based on any specific existing engine.

This is the most visually stunning vehicle I have seen, and it was made in SKETCHUP! the most I was ever able to do with sketchup was make garbage looking houses! This is incredible!

One of the very best futuristic locomotives I have ever seen.Β  None of the superfluous fluff and nonsense you usually see in most futurist vehicles, which always detracts from the concept.Β  Here, you have achieved a degree of verisimilitude that very few artists are capable of achieving.Β  Syd Mead could do no better.

Very interesting idea. I suppose that the two (Visible) radioactive symbols represent some kind of miniature reactor pods, or something similar. The way they are configured reminds me of some technology from ST:TNG, i.e., a small self-contained fusion pod. In this configuration they could possible be ejected in the case of an accident.

Hi matey, I too love using Sketchup, may I ask how you achieve the final render process, your models always have that great artistic cartoon feel and show the nice line work as well, I would like to do the same if possible

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Marrekie In reply to retromaniak [2014-10-08 19:07:14 +0000 UTC]

Hi man. Well, there's no real trick to it. I just export the images from skp in a high res (about 2 times higher than the end-result) and reduce the image size in skp. A bit of contrast fiddling & presto

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

retromaniak In reply to Marrekie [2014-10-09 01:08:53 +0000 UTC]

Hiya matey, export out and export back in to reduce image size ? not sure I get this part, is Photoshop involved anywhere in the process ?, either way your end result always looks great, thanks for taking the time to reply, love your works.

Marrekie In reply to retromaniak [2014-10-09 14:48:57 +0000 UTC]

Sorry, Β I made a typo in my previous comment. I meant: reduce the size in photoshop. So, I just make highres exports from skp and modify the jpg a bit in photoshop. Β

Nice train, although it isn't a good idea to have it nuclear powered. Should be green bio-fuel.
