Mark,
Your artwork has beautifully captured the spirit of these pivotal events in our space exploration development and gives them a resonating life. I was on a mountain in Viet-Nam when Apollo 11 landed on the Moon. The Marines and I listened to the landing on my transistor radio. For three days surrounding the landing, a tranquil spirit embraced the terrain. Though North Vietnamese soldiers were near not one shot was fire, not one bomb was dropped. I can never fully describe the awe and joy and joy I felt as the Eagle landed. At that moment it felt as if Humanity had truly entered "The Age of Aquarius." (Fifth Dimension song). Thank you for all your wonderful representations of these heady times of my childhood and young adulthood. They give spirit and meaning to our space accomplishments and spark the fire to reach out further into space . . .

I'm glad to see that someone remembered what yesterday was.Β I hope that, in two years, we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the landing with much pomp.
Another thing about this landing is how few people realize how close this came to being a tragedy.Β According to an interview I watched once, when the Eagle finally landed, they had less than 10 seconds of fuel left to make the landing.

Magnificent tribute. And one proud, confident, reassuring word for Armstrong and Aldrin: 'GRUMMAN.'

Dude, this is amazing! The dust is spreading from the landing zone in a perfectly realistic way. The particles don't billow, cloud, or disperse into the air (as they do in atmosphere). Rather, the individual particles just fly outwards and bounce to a stop. I love it when the artists get the little details spot-on.
