Description
This assignment was the final project of “Enough..?” and it is done with the medium of acrylic’s. My art piece is about a girl who is battling depression and an eating disorder, both anorexia and bulimia, this is why her back is so defined with black and shiny white lines, as well as her shirt has grown to big for her and is now barely dangling off of her shoulder.. The girl in my piece deals with extreme low self-esteem and is constantly looking in her mirror; however, instead of showering herself in words of kindness or compliments filled with affection, she only drowns herself in words with absolute hatred, despise and despair. This girl has grown from small to tall, learning to not only hate her body but her personality as well. Everything that this girl does is almost always never enough for her. I did originally write a piece of literature that described what the girl in my piece went through, though it is extremely triggering, especially to those who have battled and survived I an ED. Maybe I will eventually share the writing, let me know if I should. Thank you.
