Really amazing, marios, color really brings your work to life, or death, whatever you prefer.

Thanks a lot, that is really nice to hear that emotions were evoked, I felt like a lot of emotions were being evoked while I was painting it.

The abyss of our souls is hidden on the surface of our dreams, I think.
Well done, well balanced, nice colours.

That quote sounds good to me. Thanks a lot, I'm just starting with oil painting, and it's my first one trying some color, which is extremely challenging, but incredibly fun.

Amazing work, dude!
I always envy on your patience for the details!
By the way, how long did it take you? ('Cos the fact that it's with oils and it takes much more time than acrylics)

Thanks! I've been working on this painting and another drawing, which isn't finished, symultaneously for the last three months, but I have a stupid job, and other crap, which disrupt me. Sometimes, I like to just do one small stroke and then see how the image is altered, because I am trying to learn, especially with light, so sometimes I'll be painting for hours, but it won't look like I did anything.

Oh, I completly understand, man!
Too good that you're working on another drawing, that makes me happy to hear and I guess that that would even more detailed than this one!
Excited to see it!

mariosvonkerpen In reply to Impaled-Corpse [2012-03-26 02:09:26 +0000 UTC]

The painting has been really fun, because I am using masonite, which is way better than canvas for me.

Impaled-Corpse In reply to mariosvonkerpen [2012-03-26 02:11:44 +0000 UTC]

Masonite?! I find that way to harder than the canvas and it need a lot more color for a painting.
But, since you have fun with it, it can't be bad at all!

mariosvonkerpen In reply to Impaled-Corpse [2012-03-26 02:14:39 +0000 UTC]

Well I just started, so I'll see how it goes, it does seem to require more paint.

Impaled-Corpse In reply to mariosvonkerpen [2012-03-26 02:17:17 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, thats why I never finnished any of my paintings on masonite..
I'll stick to the canvas for a while.

It's good for texture.

Impaled-Corpse In reply to mariosvonkerpen [2012-03-26 02:24:54 +0000 UTC]

The masonite or the canvas?
For me both have good textures.

mariosvonkerpen In reply to Impaled-Corpse [2012-03-26 02:32:03 +0000 UTC]

I was talking about the canvas, but I'll see how it is on the smoother masonite as the painting evolves.
