I finally got around to completing this drawing of Neo that I started about a month ago. This is from the first movie, and the reference I used was the DVD cover ([link] ).I'm not entirely happy with a couple of things, but I don't think it turned out too badly.
Things that bug me:
* The teeth on my clipboard left noticeable marks in his hair.
* I need higher quality paper.
* I still need to work on my shading (anyone have some pointers/tutorials?
)* I ran out of room for his hair! He really had big hair in the first movie.
* Scanning this in and resizing it kind of wrecked the look of some of the lines, particularly on his neck.

Good start! It could use more contrast, like on the lips and nose. And the hair and glasses could use highlights and reflections. But you have a nice start on shading, but you just need more of it. Sometimes what I do, is I squint my eyes and that helps me see the darker and lighter areas. And then you have to be bold and draw darker than you normally would. Hope this helps!
