Ok, I drew this picture for three reasons: one, I wanted to do a valentines day pic of Koji and Kanite like I was going to do but never did last year. I am entering this in 's kimono contest at --> [link] . and also, I was trying out new techniques. Hope you all like. ^__^

From in the Time of Dragons

Finally alone. He couldn’t take his eyes off her. She was so beautiful in the evening glow, just like how she looked when they first met; otherworldly. He was almost afraid to so much as blink, certain that if he did, the vision would fade and he would wake to a much less appealing reality. How could this beautiful creature be his? How could someone so pure love him? Him. The bringer of death in so many ways. Part of him wanted to tell her she was crazy for loving him, but the other part; the stronger part, simply wanted to have her, to hold her, to stroke her soft, perfect skin, to whisper that he loved her, again and again. He never wanted to be apart from her again, and he didn’t want this day to end. Tomorrow, he would most likely be called right back into battle, and the beautiful dream would be over. He knew he would be worried about her while he was away, he knew that she would worry about him. If he ever had to leave her for any length of time, he would probably suffer withdrawal symptoms. There was no denying that he was hopelessly addicted to her, and he loved her for it. He loved the way she smelled, the way her skin felt, so smooth; like silk. He loved the gentle sweet sound of her voice, like a bell, only so much clearer. He loved to gaze into her trusting eyes…

Happily, she skipped ahead, humming to herself, her sandals discarded in the grass. He knew where she was going. She was headed to their tree, in full bloom now; he would have thought it a stunning sight in the golden glow if not for his new bride being so much more blindingly beautiful. He just stood there, watching her, a silly, genuinely happy smile on his face. He could have stood there forever.

Noticing he wasn’t at her side, Kanite twirled around to look at him, a smirk on her perfect lips. “Ko-neko! Come on!” She called out the pet name she had given him, and motioned for him to come. How could anyone resist. If anyone else ever called him that, he would be furious, but when she said it, it was music to his ears. Kicking off his sandals, he ran to catch up with her. Before she could scold him for taking too long, he scooped her up into his arms and kissed her passionately. His lips brushing hers, she opened hers and they melted together. After a while of this, they pulled apart, and a surge of energy overtook him. Laughing in pure delight, he held her out and started to spin. She was so tiny and delicate it was no effort at all.

Together, they laughed at the euphoria of the moment. Then, as he started to lose his balance, he set her down. Dizzy with joy and from spinning, they sat there together, but then she got up and pranced off toward the tree. As she ran, she glanced back at him, and winked. Quick as a pouncing tiger, he was up and chasing her down. She ran behind the tree, and soon they were circling it together, he caught her and kissed her, they ran some more, but before long, she was spent and sat down to gaze at the sky as the sun grew closer and closer to the horizon.

“It is so beautiful. What a perfect evening.” She signed. Then she grinned at Koji. “We were rather lucky, weren’t we?”

“I’m so lucky,” was his reply. Together they sat, her, watching the sun set and him watching the golden glow in her eyes… but before long, it was too much for him to wait any longer. His hand reached out to her, wrapping around the small of her back and he leaned in, looking at her the whole time. “I love you.” He whispered, and again, their lips met. This time, he didn’t let go, he leaned in closer, feeling the soft moistness of her lips as they caressed his. Now his other hand found its way to her leg, stroking it gently. "I love you." He whispered again, their lips still together as he spoke, and he felt hers turn upward in a delighted smile. As they kissed her hand found his kimono, urging it to open, stroking his chest gently. As one, they fell back. His hand rested in the small of her neck, easing her down into the cool grass, and soon, they were joyfully lost within each other.
