I love the chance to make more historically based costumes, even if this one is wholly romanticized.

Pirate, or more appropriately, Privateer England. I chose the blue and gold for his coat as a nod to the proud naval tradition of this particular country, and many of the details are allusions to the wealth that the English privateers were able to loot from the passing Spanish treasure ships. I used historically based items were applicable, as in the hat, the coat pattern, the weaponry, and the footwear. The decorations on the hat were comprised of glass pearls, Swarovski crystal, and a replica Spanish doubloon.
