Description I've seen a lot of renditions on trolls. Different types, how they look according to a given environment or setting, whether or not they're to be regarded as people even.

I value these different takes on classic folklore, as any interpretation is, no matter how "purist" the artist's intentions are, deviations from something that was never truly set in stone to begin with.

What any of us are left with is giving our interpretation, no matter how close to the source we might think it is. This is mine.

He lives in the woods. Boils and scars and welts cover his hide, and he barely has enough brains to put together the ropes and wicker basket he's stolen for his nightly harvest of weak farmhands and children.

He has some impression of the trouble he gets himself into, and he tries to protect himself with chunks of tree bark for crude armor. It doesn't work that well. Humans get together during the autumn harvest to hunt his kind down for sport and survival, but most of the hunters and their dogs never make it home, regardless of their success.

As for the picture's completion, I've still got the original dissected into its layers. This is all I'm doing with him for now so I can focus on other things, but he feels "ready" to me for the most part as a stand-alone type thing.

Might go in and make some tweaks later, add in a background maybe.

Wow. Coolness. He does look a bit brainless yet dangerous. Don't want to meet him in a dark alley.
