Description
Chronos (Cyrus Gold) always believed in luck, and this time his faith paid off - the luck did not fail him. Infiltrating the Titans' base was easier than Chronos had expected - most defenses were outdated and the base was empty, but not abandoned. This time, a new member of the team, the mysterious and gloomy Geist, remained on monitor duty. Chronos was familiar with the Titans, and if there was a Cosmic Boy on the base, perhaps Chronos would even have been able to persuade him and borrow the Time Sphere without a fight. But Geist did not know Chronos, from his point of view, Cyrus was an intruder who sneaked into the base, bypassing an innovative defense system. Geist was also immune to the arguments of reason on the part of Chronos - he believed, they were dirty tricks. Chronos realized that he was at a dead end. He could not constantly rely on a barrier of warped time - with so much damage to the timeline, it would be dangerous to additionally distort the fabric of reality. He had to fight without pulling his punches, while trying not to injure Geist or touch the Time Sphere. Fortunately, the computer in Chronos's mask gave out complete information about the enemy. Cyrus learned that Ramon Rand, a vigilante from Chicago, was hiding under the guise of Geist, whose body, after the explosion of a genetic bomb, awakened the ability to "divert eyes" - a violation of the enemy's concentration, which allowed Ramon to become invisible standing right in front of the enemy. This ability even worked against the technology of the future - perhaps even too well. Seeing the moving blob of nothing through the advanced lenses in his mask, Chronos could easily deduce Geist's whereabouts. Using a contact shocker, Chronos was able to knock Geist out, jump into the Time Sphere, and escape before the rest of the Titans returned.
