This is a really clever take on the idea of color experiment, both because of the subtle gradient between the colors and their being in a marked vial of some sort. I like the juxtaposition of the beaker and the vial, too. The contrast between the two places more emphasis on the reflected numbers on the vial in the left part of the piece.
I'll definitely check out the tutorial myself. This is really cool!
