Description He was not a common leopard. Spots, that marked his body, originated from the Sun itself, giving him a unique look. Spots, looking like a little pools of warmth.
The only problem, that the Sun decided to claim, that once was hers. Forming into butterflies the spots started lifting up and flapping away. Trying to catch them won't help!

The background is simplified for a reason, giving just a base understanding about the territory. Hopefully the leopard's left arm looks like trying to catch the butterflies, and not just hung in a derpy way
Water-colours on A4 paper!

Thank you! Awww one of my favourite old watercolors ;v;
I just wish I didn't ruin the background haha. And I wonder is it even visible what is happening? As the spots from the leopard body should be detaching, turning into butterflies and flying away xD

Ruin the background!? The background is gorgeous! :3 I love how the edge of the trees meets the winding road to the sunset, and then you have that horizon line curving back to the tree branch the leopard is on. It leads to really strong direction in how your eye moves across the piece!

The butterflies emerging from the leopard is subtle right now but could be intensified if you either give the leopard some butterfly-shaped spots, or draw more butterflies overlapping the edge of the leopard, so you can see that the butterflies are definitely coming from the leopard and not the surrounding trees. Another trick could be to draw less spots on the parts of the leopard where there are butterflies instead, and then have more spots where the butterflies aren't. Just some suggestions if you plan on revisiting the butterfly leopard idea! ^w^ It's always fun to redraw old pieces and see the improvement!

There are the leopard's spots on the trees, but it's not visible that super well to make it clear Dx
Ye butterfly shaped spots might have helped.
This is a good idea actually, to keep this picture in mind for a future redraw

This is really nice. You have an interesting art style.Β The leopard's fur is almost the same colour as the tree's bark, though. It makes the leopard harder to define.

Yeah, its scanned a bit stupidly so some contrast has been lost. But yeah, colours are a bit too similar :S and mistakes everywhere >.>
But I am happy that you like it

Oh I feel you There is just TOO MUCH to look at and follow... I myself have 4000+ deviations to take a look at ;v; They just staaaack.

THANK YOU for your comment! I kinda feel that background was derpy but I do love the leopard VERY much :> was a pain to colour in water-colour as I had to paint and repaint his face multiple times as the colour looked yucky. THANK you VERY much again C:
