Yes, after some experimenting the results were pretty satisfying and for it was worth the sale price in any case. As always close -ups may need some finetuning to the textures. And as I pointed out to the bow wave (spray and side) was more or less carved and tortured out of an effect set, but it worked out in the end.

I know the song, but not that well. The line in "Sailing" this reminded me of is "I am sailing stormy waters, to be near you, to be free." I'll have to go listen to Billy's song again.

The song text may no really fit, but I assumed they could be riding down from Newfoundland along the east coast so it's not completely wrong either. Whatever I can listen to that song endlessly when the mood hits me

Yeah I do like the painted look too. But it's no dedicated art filter or action, just a bit work on contrasts and sharpness and stuff. Most people seem to prefer the crisp, photorealistic work with renders, but it really depends on taste and motive...
