Description This took a very long time to do. There were many attempts to get the figure as well as I drew a lot of different chibi's to put in and around the cage. The cool thing about this picture is that I can replace what's in the cage whenever I want. I can put in an animal, a flower, an object, or just different people and it will make sense. As always I can also change the hair color of the figure as well as the skin tone, nails, dress, etc. Getting everything in the right place and in a way that made it balanced while still seeing everything was hard too. I literally spent an hour arranging everything.

To do the hair, I put in the basic color, then I very carefully put in the darker tones to show the hair strands and where the light is coming from. Then, I went over the ends of the hair with a nice green color and added shadows to that (though at first it was purple and then I changed it). Then I used yellow and the airbrush and shade in the light parts of the hair, making sure to follow the "flow" of the hair. I did something different for the eyes though--I blurred where the lid meets the color, which I think has a nice effect. The dress I did as I always do, base color, darks, and highlights though this was with yellow again to keep the same kind of theme going which turned out well. The cage took four tries to get right because it kept getting blurry and unrealistic. I basically just took the pen tool in SAI and went over a picture of a cage and then put highlights and everything in and added the extra layer. The front of the cage is a different layer than the back of the cage though. The chibi's I all did separately and then put them into the cage, making sure to put them behind the front cage layer and in front of the back cage layer..

For this one, there is a pretty obvious Vocaloid theme. A normal sized Miku has put all the people she loves in a cage, trapping them so they will stay with her forever. Her most favorite people (usually her love interests) Kaito and Len are at the top of the cage, as well as another version of Miku, though not as twisted, since she loves herself as well. Then Luka and Gakupo are on the bottom level, still loved but loved a little bit less. Then Gumi and Rin, obviously upset that their brother/crush is in the cage, deal with it in different ways.

For the background I decided to make it simple so that Miku would stand out more, since I really do love how she turned out. The pattern in the back draws attention to her face--the focal point--while the butterflies add a bit of a creepy but beautiful feeling to the picture.Overall a nice design.

If anyone is wondering why there are bunnies in her hair the answer is simply. First, it's cute. Second, there are actually hair ties like that. Third, bunnies stand for love because as most people know, bunnies like to "love" and that goes along with the theme. *heh*
