I hope I remember to post this on tumblr tomorrow, today's "log out to protest the female-presending nipples" day

His full name's Aihere and I'm almost sure that meant dandelion in some language, but idk I named him a long long time ago
He's half human, half 'beast' but shh that's a secret. While the world he lives in is full of all kinds of magical creatures, some species are considered more monsterous than others.
Because Ire's father is from a species that doesn't resemble humans much, Ire would be treated like a monster if the wrong people found out. His grandparents were very much against this, and were really ashamed of their daughter (his mother), and she couldn't even go live with her boyfriend because of her poor health.
So Ire grew up in human society, hiding his true self from everyone. His grandparents forced him to wear hats, cloaks and dresses to hide his ears and tail, and always told him to talk as little as possible, so people wouldn't notice his teeth. He was kept away from other kids too.
Despite the grandparents' best efforts, rumors spread in his village that he's a monster by the time he was a teen and oppinions were split.
Some hated him, some shamed his mother and regarded him as an animal that had no fault in its wonder's mistakes; some were accepting; and some didn't care about him, didn't believe the rumors, etc...
Still, Ire got bullied. To get him away from the toxic atmosphere, his mother send him away to magic school where he became a knight. There Ire met a guy (who doesn't have a name yet ops). They fell in love, got married after they graduated, and became teachers at that school.
Ire has to make frequent trips to his home village to make sure his mother's alright and take care of her if she falls ill. He's currenly trying to arrange for her to move to the city where the school is, so she wouldn't need to take whatever bullshit her parents and the rest of the village throw at her, but she absolutely doesn't want to live with Ire and his husband (she finds the husband very hard to talk to, and is afraid of causing conflict between him and Ire)
