Speaking of Good emotional games, have you played Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons? Fairly good gameplay-wise, and the story had me sobbing uncontrollably by the end.

...and hearing the agonizing screams of pain of enemy forces and ailed troops, she continues to trot looking for her next patient, looking for somepony to help heal, looking to save just one more pony knowing she alone can not stop the pointless blood shed and murder. The lives she could not save still stained on her blouse, and the memories of her lost little ones hang around her neck. Reminiscent of her past she moves on to another, still hoping for an end...
