It's a breedables shop on Gaia. You can google it. I think it's closed now, though.

Do you have any advice (good books or something) for one who want to learn how to draw wings and don't own an owl or a hawk to look for reference?

Find a zoo nearby, or some good reference photos!

Everyone always wants a book, but the truth is there is no substitute for learning from life whenever possible. However, Floyd Sholtz has some books out specifically on birds of prey and owls for the artist, which include photographs from angles you almost never see. These angles show details on the birds that are difficult to see in most photography. [link]

Ha! I finally found you! You do all the pin designs for the Canadian DI teams right? I love your art and love your pins. (I designed all the phoenix pin series, flutterby, spirit wolves, leopard/tiger pins you may have seen in previous years so you may sort of know who I am.) These eagles are fantastic and were my favorite pins from that year, by the way.
Are you coming to globals this year? I would love to meet you!

I may do that! I've been invited a few times, but it's very difficult for me to travel with how busy work is. I'll chat with my DI pals about it, maybe for next year!

I see you're involved with raptors as well. That's incredibly cool. I'm applying to veterinary school at the moment and I would love to work with raptors. I applied to the University of Guelph as one of my possible schools though I'm still waiting to hear if I have an interview or not. If I do, I'll certainly be in the area. How did you get involved with raptor work?

That would be awesome. I'll be sure to let you know if I do. Also, I think I found you on facebook. Friend me and we can move this conversation out of the art comments lol.

do you know of any bird that might resemble the second one from the left? The golden one? I know you made these up, but I was wondering if you knew of a bird species that looked similar to that one. It's so beautiful, I love its colors~

The colouring of that one was inspired by a mix of Ornate Hawk-eagle and Red-tailed Hawk-- but no, there's nothing that looks really close. Ornate Hawk-eagles are amazing, though: [link]

ah, I see how you were inspired by those. I thought Red-Tailed Hawk at first, but I wasn't sure what else was in there. Ornate Hawk-Eagles really are beautiful though, thank you for the link!
