Amazing work on this! Is it actually functional? Can you put a 3d model under it and it will conform to it?

Thank you! Β Yes, it works. Β It employs a Maxscript that creates the pins based on a custom height map. Β So if I change the map, and run the script again, the pin positions will change to conform to that shape, etc. Β So it could actually be animated, and I was thinking about doing an animation of it in progress, although I don't have much time for that kind of render right now.

Damn, like everybody else in the comments I would have thought that was a photograph over a 3D rendering. It's brilliant, you got serious talent, dude! Someday, with enough practice, I dream of having this level of skill.
