This piece is somewhat a reminiscence of my past. Many years ago, I began my art journey with folkart painting and learned the one stroke painting technique. I was utterly smittened with the Shabby Chic style and spent many days painting flowers. Roses were one of my favourite flowers to paint. That was a long time ago. This week, I looked back at my old pieces and wondered if I could apply this style I once so loved onto my journals. French Romance was born and I am delighted that I still have some skills with my roses, albeit a little rusty with the brush strokes. This piece oozes with romance and femininity, I imagine it would sit perfectly in a country house somewhere in France.
