I have read all of the rules and guidelines, checked out some posts for myself and I'm in the process of Creating a Character.

Little Archie, along with his sisters, was born and raised in the small, cozy residence know as Nacrene City. His trainer, named Joel, was kind, yet corrupted soul whose only desire was to earn money by selling Pokemon with unusual moves. His small family consisted of three sisters, a Chatot Father, and an Unfeazant mother. Even though Joel was intimidating and had angry outbursts, Archie became attatched to the Human in no time at all. He seemed to have a theraputic effect on him; easing him away from things that made him angry and bringing him small trinkets of value for him to sell.On one particular day, he noticed Joel cast aside a glass bottle right before having one of his outbursts and came to a conclusion: Joel did not like glass bottles. So, whenever Archie saw a glass bottle, he would fly over to it and get it from Joel's sight so he wouldn't become angry.
For a while, whatever job Joel had, it kept the family of seven in excellent shape. Eventually, Joel took up a hobby of writing, and Archie became interested himself. Having a Chatot as a father, Archie excelled in mimickry, and soon found that if he dipped one of his claws in ink, and dragged it across the paper in the same way Joel did, he could copy the same characters he was writing. Joel noticed this and began to teach him how to write by placing an object in front of him along with an alphabet chart, pointing to the letters that spelled out the object and pointing to the object again. It took many months, but eventually, Archie finally understood that the red juicy thing his trainer was pointing to, and the characters were somehow connected. And so, he learned how to read.
6 Years passed, and hard times followed. His mother, father, and sisters were all sold off so Joel and Archie could support themselves. More and more glass bottles filled the house and Archie became nervous. He knew his trainer didn't like bottles, and now they were coming in from everywhere! One day, right after a lesson, Joel outfitted him with his usual paper-carrier, only this time he fastened a bottle of ink to the bottom of it with leather, and stuffed a lot of paper inside of it. He looked worried and very tired, Archie noticed.
"Write everyday of your survival. If you find a cure, write it down as many times as you can," were his last words before Archie was locked out of the house. He wasn't confused as he should've been and flew off to find this "Cure" person, whoever it was. Then, he saw the boies of trainers EVERYWHERE. Horrified, he totally forgot to look for "Cure" and flew away as fast as his little wings could carry him. He soon found out from a small colony of Patrat, that there was an epidemic breaking out and all of the humans were dying. The pokemon? Not so much. Eventually, the wind carried him to Lostlorn Forest where he's stayed ever since.
