Description
After Justify recently won at the Kentucky Derby, I couldn’t help but think about a certain special someone that my father told me of, and that was Secretariat, the legendary triple crown racehorse who won by an astonishing 31 lengths! My love of horses has always been strong, so I decided to draw this in memory of Secretariat. R.I.P., Big Red. I don't think that I have ever seen a drawing of Secretariat this good! I especially like how you did the eyes, halter, muzzle, mane, and--oh, forget it! Everything about this drawing is nearly flawless! You capture his fighting spirit so well! (Please excuse my overload of excitement; I just watched the Secretariat movie not too long ago!) I am in awe!

This is a wonderful drawing of Secretariat. He was a beautiful horse and I think you captured him well. He was definitely a force to be reckoned with!
There are a couple things I wish to suggest presentation wise. I would suggest cropping out the binding from the notebook. I think that would give it a more polished, professional look. I also notice some darker spots on the drawing that would suggest you took this under uneven lighting. To help fix this, you can photograph the drawing outside in a place with either bright, even sunlight or even shade (I find a shady place with Northern lighting works best). If doing indoor shooting, you could take 2 studio lights pointed at the drawing at a 45 degree angle.
Other than the above suggestions, I think your photo came out nice and clear. It doesn't appear to be grainy, blurry, or too dark. I also love your use of texture in this drawing. It almost looks like you can touch him!

I use Prismacolor premier, but if you're looking for even better ones, I'd highly reccomend Faber Castell Polychromos! They're even better.
*However, I'd say that the quality also depends on the artist just as much (if not more than) as the supplies. Cheers!
