Personality: Mtamu is a lioness with a heart as warm and welcoming as the African sun. She is kind, gentle, and always eager to help those in need, no matter their species or background. Mtamu believes that everyone deserves to be treated with love and respect, and she goes out of her way to make sure that this is the case. Her sweet disposition and caring nature did not change despite being thrust into rogue life at a young age.

However, Mtamu can be a bit too honest at times. She likes to speak her mind and does not have much of a filter, which can sometimes get her into trouble. She is not afraid to call out others on their behavior or speak up for what she believes is right, even if it means ruffling a few feathers. While her honesty can be refreshing, it can also be off-putting to some.

Mtamu’s father was part of the Jangwa Pride. She didn’t meet him until she was 2 years old, and even then it was a little awkward. She and her sister were a result of a one night stand between her mother Rayna and Nkem. The lioness thought that she was madly in love with the nomadic lion after a few weeks of meeting up in secret, but as it turned out, he really had no interest in starting a family yet, and did not want to settle down with anyone at all. A heartbroken Rayna then left the desert for the lushful jungle, where she later would give birth to Mtamu and their sister Raha.

Mtamu was happy. Growing up, she would spend hours with her sister and her mother, allowing the three to bond beyond what words can describe. They were a close small family, and Mtamu could not ask for a better mother.

Growing up, she was nurtured with care and love by her mother, something that was passed down to the young cub very early in life. Her mother told her that she had to be kind to the world, and the world would be kind to her in return. Mtamu grew up with this belief strongly rooted in her heart, allowing her to have a heart of gold.

After two years in the jungle, her father’s pride, the Jangwa Pride, moved into the jungle for several moons. The two girls got to meet their father, who despite not wanting to be part of a family yet, treated them somewhat well before the pride moved again back to the desert.

A few months after however, tragedy struck as a leopard roamed into the jungle, seeking a new territory to call home. Soon he found the trio of lionesses. The two inexperienced youngsters watched as an older and more experienced Rayna took on the leopard to drive him away, and while successful for the most part, unfortunately she passed away a few moons after the fight, succumbing to her wounds.

The girls were heartbroken beyond expression, and it didn’t take long for the leopard to return after he had healed entirely. The two were driven away from home, and while Raha became a little colder and more distant, thinking cruelly of the world, Mtamu tried to stay kind and warm, just as their mother had taught them. The two still remained together however, until they were old enough and decided to part ways after realizing the two had very different desires when it came to the future. Mtamu wanted to settle down with someone and have cubs, while Raha wanted a life of adventure. The two stayed together for some time though, with the war against Nguvu it was best to hide together, not wanting to be caught in the crossfire by accident. It wasn’t until the war was over that they bid their goodbyes.
They have not seen each other since.
