Description
We are born on a child’s first laughter
destined to change the seasons
mend broken things.
Yet why do these task
only apply to the realm of nature
Are humans not a part of the natural world?
Do they not go through changes
through the years
Slowly gaining experience
through their own life experiences
or does the world force them to hide
their personality and achievements.
Children hold no illusions
wearing their hearts on their sleeve
yet when they grow up
bone weary and scarred
they are not as trusting
as they once were.
Perhaps that’s why I closed him
my human fairy boy
A child in both body and spirit
who denies all possibilities of growing up.
Many claim his acts as childish
some trying to trick him
while others play on his emotions
None of them seeing
what lies beneath his playful banter
That games of private and pretend
acts as a barrier against lobbies and isolation
a distraction from the harsh reality
humans are trapped in.
Why should I let them put a stop to this
allow them to tinker with my only friend
even if it means giving up my duties of nature
Is a child’s love not worth the cost?
