Wow, Love it.
Β Background is incredible.
I'm really new to drawing, what program are you using? are you using a digital pen?
Keep up!

Thank you!
For this drawing, I did the sketch on paper and scanned it into my computer. Then I did the lineart in Manga Studio debut 4 with the pencil tool (I think it was on the hard setting). Then I opened the image in photoshop (I have cs5) for coloring. In this drawing I used the brush tool only I think, but more recently I've started using the mixer brush tool as well. And I always use a pen tablet when I work digitally.
The nice thing about linearting in Manga Studio is that the lines come out clean, but there are some drawbacks to using Manga Studio for lineart. The lines are really pixelated and you're stuck with all the white space on the layer, rather than the white space being transparent. There might be a way to make the white pixels transparent but I don't know it. I just end up setting the lineart layer to multiply when I open photoshop. Because of the drawbacks, I usually lineart in photoshop with the brush tool. It can still turn out really nice, but it's more difficult because photoshop tends to capture lots of tablet jitters (though I've found that the jitters are minimized if you're working on a smaller canvas or, if you're working on a canvas about this size, if the figure- or whatever you're drawing- is smaller). Recently, I've tried Paint Tool SAI, which I've so far found to be an excellent program for both linearting and coloring. I still need to play with it a bit more, but so far I really like it. It's selection tools are superior to photoshop's, the program smooths out the tablet jitters, and it's much more affordable than photoshop (around $50 USD). You can also download a free 31 day trial from the official website to test it out. Photoshop is great for effects and finishing touches, as it has much more options than SAI for such things. Manga studio I tend to only use for actually making manga pages, as it has a lot of tools for making pro-like manga, such as panel tools, screen tones, speed lines, etc.
Anyway, I think that's probably enough of my rambling XD If you ever have any questions, feel free to ask and I'll do my best to answer ^__^
Thanks again
