I picked one hell of a costume to try and adapt I think she turned out alright though. So! Here's Lorena Marquez, one of the superheroines to have held the title of Aquagirl. Lorena was not born as an Atlantean however. When she was on a date at San Diego Zoo, an earthquake struck that sunk the city, killing most of its inhabitants, including her parents. Aquaman saved her and nursed her back to health, his DNA merging with her own, giving her the ability to breathe underwater amongst other abilities. She resides within and protects the sunken, but rebuilt San Diego, known now as Sub Diego, populated by the other few inhabitants whose genes mutated allowing survival underwater.

Her powers and abilities include:
Unique Physiology granted by merging DNA with Aquaman
Amphibious (Possesses gills.)
Superhuman Durability
Enhanced Strength
Hand-to-Hand Combat Training (From Aquaman.)
Investigative Skills
Adept Swimmer
Wields an Atlantean Trident
