Description It is the same drawing..but I am sure that if I were to put them separately the traditional one would get more attention.
People say that traditional art is harder and better. I had no problem with the traditional piece because I had the eraser. It took only 30 min to draw. The digital piece took more than 3 hours and I had major problems with it (I had to draw the lineart twice because the first time it was done in monochrome mode and I couldn't use any colors. Those using Manga Studio EX 4 will get what I say).

I love both traditional and digital art..as you can see. This was a personal experiment I wanted to do for a while.

People who say digital art is inferior say that we have the 'undo' option and preset brushes. I didn't use any brushes just the basic brush for coloring and the lineart pen. I used the 'undo' option just as much as I used the eraser while doing the traditional piece.

Some say traditional art is costly..so is digital art! Software, tablets, laptops cost too!!!
Others say that a traditional piece has more soul. Trust me I've put as much soul in both!

I agree that you must be really careful while drawing traditionally..but same goes while drawing digitally. I sometimes forget to save and if the power goes off..Bye-bye drawing!

I think we should appreciate both mediums. Remember that every digital artist was once a traditional artist. I've been doing digital art since 2010 and I still draw the basic sketch traditionally. There is no magical button to do digital art.

***All these arguments are related to my drawings.

Both look amazing.

And I can't do digital at all. I only have a laptop and I can't stand trying.

I agree with you 100% Both are equally as hard and really i think people sometimes assume the computer does all the work, or ost of.. they forget every pen stroke is still done by hand no matter what medium you are using.

The traditional has this sketch look and feel to it. while the digital is just more perfected i would say they are both real nice.

I think both mediums can be equally difficult and while they look different are actually in essence the same thing. Because I don't have a tablet, every piece of art I color digitally starts out as a drawing on a physical piece of paper that I scan and then have to clean up before I can apply colors. Because I can alter sizes easily with digital art I don't have to worry as much if I do something too big or too small, and there are no permanent pen marks from making a mistake while inking pencil lines, so I like to color things digitally more than traditionally. However I still like taking out my colored pencils and coloring my drawing traditionally from time to time.

...... In a way I have a little more awe and respect for digital artists because they can get a lot more detail in any one piece than I can digitally or traditionally, but I still get floored and stare open mouthed when I find really good and really detailed traditional art.

I hate when I forget to save anything digitally based, whether art, writing, or video game, isn't saved up to date and the power cuts off for whatever reason.

I agree with you. Both mediums an be hard and have easy parts. I've been drawing with a tablet for 2 years and I still feel more comfortable when creating traditional sketches. I don't know how to explain it. When I draw on a piece of paper I can draw the proportions better and it's easier to use photos for reference. When I draw digitally most of the time I work with the zoom in and I always see the mistakes when it's too late and it makes it hard to fix them without ruining other parts of the drawing. That's why I always draw the sketches traditionally and ink them digitally. I can somehow see the mistakes easier on paper and I can adjust them in time.

I have tons of respect for all artists alike.

I hate that drawing programs don't have that back up saving like Microsoft office has. If the power goes off my laptop closes on the spot because my battery is broken. What angers me even more is when I accidentally move my laptop and the power cable gets out of the socket. This happens quite often to me...so I lose work on a daily basis.

Also one of my biggest problems with Manga Studio is that sometimes I forget to set the colors and end up doing a lineart in monochrome mode. When this happens I can't use any colors and if I open the lineart as an image in the color mode and try to color it the between the colors and the lineart there will be tiny white pixels that ruin everything.

I've never learned how to draw digitally, even though I've wanted to for such a long time...

All my art is traditional and I respect anyone who draws traditionally too! I pretty much agree with all you said
