Why would I like to hang up my mic?
Comedian was one of my dreams, it seems like it's not coming
I can't keep up with the changing times and media, "say something funny"
Honey this was supposed to be me in an introspective
Did you know that we get disrespected?
When we stand on that stage and get no protection
Is this the life I should be projecting?

Damnit man I need some kind of a big break to show everyone what I can do
I'm just kinda tired of being in that point where there's something I gotta prove
Move to me and sit down to listen deep in conversation
No need to pay for a show, your laughter is compensation
Contemplating and reiterating old serial numbers like managers
Average wages and responsibilities to keep bread on the table like janitors

Keeping it simple, I need an audience that I already have
To say some words that the old me already had
Sad really that it hits me in some areas, when I can get on stage
But it's starting to feel like an old chapter, and I need to turn the page
Age is nothing really, just getting to understand life

If nothing changes, then I just might have to hang up my mic...
