Back in 2014 I remember watching America burn from afarPeople getting shot by discourse while a door stood ajar
People screaming and asking for peace
Meanwhile "making it great again" signed the lease
You see being in a war zone is terrifying yet relieving
You're afraid to lose that fight and the fear of leaving
I float in high seas waiting for action to happen
Other troops wait on the ground for an assassin
All I ever do is turn wrenches to fight fires
All he ever does is sign papers to hide his desires
I'll be the one in the middle of dangerous waters for weeks
Missing holidays with close friends because of a tweet
I didn't plan this out, I just had to do it for half a decade
Not sure if I can keep this thing going like a bad charade
You say we troops don't do anything for the country
I know quite a few veterans who can tell it to you bluntly
That the friends they lost and the blood they shed wasn't fake
Gun to their face while their lives were at stake.
Thinking about all of their fallen comrades that had lives to an end
And wishing that all of them can return just to breathe again.

As many as the iterations of "dang" there'd be one that I use with good intentions. Closely related to the "dang that's a fine booty", but not quite as awkward or pervy.
