This has potential to grow into a bigger concept. Reminds me a bit of that meteor from the FF spirits within movie.
I like your work. You don't seem to be as pretentious as a lot of the trendy abstract "artists" make themselves out to be.

The painted background is insanely awesome. I really love the colors and the brush strokes. The 3d is pretty sweet as well. My favorite part of the 3D is your textures and colors again. I probably enjoy our textures most because I tend to consider myself a texture artist.

Sweet. 
The only thing I was kinda - well not disturbed but more wondering about is the alien itself. You see it looks kinda cartoonish with the outlines and high saturation and that imho doesn't blend very well with the backgrounds atmosphere (but it's really a matter of taste I guess

Yes Linear light gives it that effect, also it was the way i rendered it. I kept it simple, id normally brush it alot more to help it blend etc. but with this piece i kept the render standing out, rather than mix it as i wanted the render to have its own identity rather than disapear. As for the outlines..if there are any they are slight and that came about from texturing and having a standard render machine. But yes, of course the way it looks is the way i wanted it to look or i would have changed it. (except for any outlines you might see on a low res, but thats beyond my powers). Cheers for the comment
