Ha ha ha ha... Lara thought she could pull a fast one, no matter how innocently, on Doppelina !
She might have been freed by Lara but she is, what, three years old: she is still feral. Meaning one must deal with Doppelina on her terms, according to her perceptions.
I'll bet Doppelina's hearing is so acute she can perceive Lara's thought even before Lara is conscious of them, and she can think so fast that she's always 12 steps in front of Lara.
