Description Winry was taking Quinlan out for a walk on the town (not like their parents would do it) when she ran into an old acquaintance that she hadn't talked to in a bit, Loey. They sat down to talk, and it seemed Quinlan was absolutely enamored with Loey's boo, Turtle. While he played, mostly with Pastel and Melon (who tolerated him to spare Turtle), Winry and Loey talked.

"So..." Loey started, seeing that Winry was keeping an eye on Quinlan to make sure he didn't get into trouble. "I didn't expect the next time I saw you you'd have a kid."

Winry tensed, then shook her head fervently. "Oh, oohhhh no. No, nonono, Dulce isn't mine. Chii, no." Even if she had had an egg to spite her parents, it went right to the nook. She was not ready to be a parent, and her parents weren't keen on letting their supposed "spite-spawn" keep an egg either. "Dulce is my little brother. I bring him out to town because our parents...." How would she explain? That they were paranoid and superstitious to a harmful degree, and thought that keeping him cooped up inside, away from other gros, would be best for him? "... They're busy a lot, so I take care of them," Winry ended up saying.

"I see," Loey said with a nod, though she looked a little skeptical at Winry's excuse. No duh, she'd paused for a while there to think. Thankfully, she didn't question Winry about it further.

They talked for a little longer, catching up on some things, avoiding others (Winry noticed that when asked what she had done for Warptide, Loey got a little uncomfortable, so she didn't press on the pet contest that she mentioned), and by the time Winry knew it, it was time to get Quinlan back home.

"Alright, gotta get Dulce back to Mom and Dad," Winry said, picking him up. Quinlan made a happy noise, snuggling into the shawl she wore, while Pastel made a noise of complaint and lifted their front set of leg nubs like they wanted to be lifted, too. Winry clicked her tongue and shook her head, making the boo pout, but they stopped asking.

"It was good to catch up with you, Quest," Loey said, actually sounding sincere along with her smile. It gave Winry a start, not used to people actually wanting her around. The feeling was odd. "You should come by the Cranny sometime. There are a lot of good gros there that I'm sure you'd get along with."

"Thanks for the suggestion," Winry said with a little laugh, shifting Quinlan so he wouldn't be able to make a grab for her horns. "I'll think about it."

Her chest felt warm as she left, wondering if she should come to town more often, and if she could find more friends that wanted to be around her.

I'm sorry for just posting this now I just forgot about it while I was waiting for Loey's unlimited colors and then when I rememberd during Warptide I was busy with other things so I only just got this done, hope it's still alright to snatch Loey for a little interaction ToT
