If it's a droid, you've got my attention. And for the fact that he's an intelligent battle droid, that's amazing.

The Art of War"I come no more to make you laugh: things now, That bear a weighty and a serious brow, Sad, high, and working, full of state and woe, Such noble scenes as draw the eye to flow, We now present. Those that can pity, here May, if they think it well, let fall a tear; The subject will deserve it."
VGR-001, Droid General of the Separatist cause, walked by, inspecting his troops as they prepped for invasion of Toydaria. Β Many of the droids looked at VGR with some confusion as he gave the small speech, addressing them in a grave manner. Β It was still early in the war, and many neutral planets hung in the balance.
Though VGR's voice was the same tinny level as theirs, the fresh troops were able to ascertain that VGR was not the average cheap robot of the CIS. Β He marched in deep red color, a single black stripe on his thin head, granting him the rank of General, and VGR would brook no clownish antics from his men.
A new dawn arose as the sun peaked upon the horizon of Toydaria, r
He makes an appearance at the end in an action packed moment.....
The Last Cold Day In HellAuthor's note: Β There is some mature content in this story, while not explicit I wrote it to be about intimacy and not to be offensive. Β
Plus, this story is a 3rd "Barrisoka" installment, a sequel to "Dark Gift for Palpatine" and "The Greatest Journey", and it is a bit darker than the previous stories. Β It's a little longer than the other two but it was a story that got into my head to write.
I welcome any critiques and suggestions
The Last Cold Day in Hell
by Lordhadrian
Many Years had passed, since I first saw your face
On that fateful day in the Arena.
Now, in these dark times, I wonder if I come to you at night, in dreams,
or in the day, as memories.
Do I haunt your hours
in the way you haunted mine?
And I wonder if you see me when you look at her.
If we have souls, they are made of the love we share.
Undimmed by time. Β Unbound by Death.
After all these years, I will see you again,
and in that moment, I know I am home.

Cool.Β Asenath 23 made him red, which I thought was an excellent choice, to help him stand apart from the other droids....

"I should shoot you, but I won't. Now get out of here before I'm forced to." Is what I see him saying.
I like this, the battle droids are my favourite characters in Star Wars, especially Post-Naboo where they actually have personalities!
Great art!

Well not all the droids are clowns, the B2s aren't very talkative and are way less "stupid". The Magnaguards are intelligent and so are the Commando droids. But the problem with them, unlike the B1's, is they don't have personalities.
The B1's, despite being cheap and flimsy, have personalities and don't like being destroyed. I often wonder how come in certain SW:TCW episodes the clones/jedi destroy the B1s when they are unarmed. Infact, the only time a unarmed B1 didn't get destroyed for no reason was in that one episode in the "Ryloth" arc. Remember the one where Waxer and Boil picked up that little twi-lek girl? And how in the next episode there was a droid cleaning one of the cages and Obi-Wan locked him in there and instead of destroying him? Thats the only time a unarmed B1 was not shot/sashed in half for no reason. I kind of feel bad for them, as its obvious they don't like fighting.

True, not all the droids were used for comedy, but it felt at times that the combat droids were made to have ridiculous dialogue early on, and droids in general were always viewed as second class beings no matter how intelligent or thoughtful they might be. Of course, after the Clone Wars nobody was going to fully trust droids in general because of the stigma.
I was rather happy with the writing of VGR-001. He gave me a chance to really create some sympathy and humanity in a droid character.

True, I like the tactical droids, but they were rather mean and underestimated the others. I love the B1s, the B2S are bland.
Where would I read your version of the phantom menace?
