I think it's fittingly ironic that the whole ideal of the days of the week I've seen in pop culture thus far is based around the average industrial-grade country's work schedule, which is really only like 300 years old max, whereas the oldest source I'm aware of for the number seven for the days in the week is the Hebrew Bible (which also has a fine bit of poetry attached to the things created on each of those seven days).
