Absolutely gorgeous in its crazy chaos, full of some mad, demented beauty...

This is so beautiful and stunning! The yellows, red/pinks and oranges are amazing. It's such a dynamic and interesting image I could just look and look at it!

I think it sort of looks like a garden with a bunch of spiky plants and unusual flowers growing in it and the sun is rising in the upper left hand corner.

I see a big squid-shell in perspective with at the end (or the beginning) the bottom of a guitar. Besides this a lot of screaming heads and particular one that stands out, at the end of one of the sharp points of the explosion in the upper regions of this drawing.

OK. Congratulations on coloring this so nicely.
I think the color really helps the viewer make (some) sense of the shapes. I also am glad you posted the line art so we can compare the versions.
It certainly takes more than "a moment" to check this out. I admire the free-flowing, stream-of-consciousness feel to this. It's something I would like to experiment with in my own art, but I don't think my brain works this way.
However, I don't really sense any connection between the piece and its title. The color pallete certainly isn't terribly Hellish. Pastel Peach and Pink? Tommy Hilfiger's Hell, maybe.
I suppose it could be argued that the colors represent the daydreamer's longing for a more peaceful place, but then I think the dream would be less chaotic than this.
All that said, I LIKE this, and I've been looking at it for about 40 minutes straight now.

And, oh yeah, I think I see a squinting rabbit carrying a purse shaped like a Pac-man ghost about a quarter of the way down and almost halfway over.
I'm making an appointment at the eye doctor immediately.

For starters, I see this [link] on the right up corner
I see a family a little bit below the middle
I see explosions (or is it lava?), smiley faces and grins
I see a cliff and a really big sun in the left down corner
And I also see a big bloody mess
Got to admire you, you really put much detail on this, there are so many interpretations that I would take weeks do find them all, and even so...

If I watch it in the smaller version and over 30 seconds, I see the upperbody of something like a...... Birdknight with an amor. I see his bird-head, his left arm (wing) and the right shoulder of his amor.... really 0_o

This is...extremely interesting. At first glance, it just looks like this jumbled mess, but after I full-viewed it and started picking through it...everything seems to have its own place...and the detail. This is astounding work. ^_^ Kudos!

Hoe crap...I see...a pig? Um a building near the bottom, and for some reason I see the hill from the nightmare before christmas, weird. And that's what I really like about this picture, it's weird and simply mind blowing, my eyes are on overdrive trying to get all the little pieces of the picture...love it.

This is certainly a favorite. I first wanted to find the dog chasing the cat into oblivion, which I was very pleased to find. Then I found the distinct head of a rooster or a phoenix which caps the head of a grinning triceratop. These are some of my favorites. See many more. Very unique, interesting and powerful. Congratulations.

loess In reply to FireballXL5 [2007-08-08 07:35:00 +0000 UTC]

why thank you. your not the first to see this phoenix. but its strange that you would also allow it to be a rooster; since a phoenix could obviously rise up right underneath a rooster, leaving nothing but ash and smoldering feathers.

I see AWESOME, that's wut wut.

Let's see... an exploding jack-in-the-box, a hand grabbing an eyeball, a scuba diver trying to smoke through his suit (what a silly), two guitars, a banjo, a fish with teeth, the leaning tower of Piza, annnd... a hand giving a high five.

Amazing piece. It does a really great job of keeping your eye moving across the image.

its like the garage sale from hell, at first its just a pile of crap that looks like one huge mass, and then you walk through it and you see little interesting things, like balls of light, architectural fire, little creepy crawler, ect.

i think this picture would make a effing sweet pin ball game
props on the colour as usual
