Personality
Bubblegum certainly inherited the excitable party planner side of her mothers’ and comes off as very cheery and bubbly. She is very empathetic and will drop anything to make sure her friends and family are okay, to the point of neglecting her emotions.

Although she is good at keeping up a happy and confident facade, Bubblegum actually has a lot of doubts about herself and crippling self-esteem problems.
This likely stems from the fact that she often feels outshined by her half-brother, who is not-so-subtly favoured by her stepmother Lightning Dust, and feelings of being disconnected from her family.

Background
Rainbow Dash had a short-lived romance with Pinkie Pie, which ended mutually with both of them deciding to stay good friends.
Both of them, being young and impulsive decided a few months into the relationship to have a foal. Six months after Bubblegum Surprise was born, they decided to end the relationship.
Even after Rainbow started dating Lightning Dust and Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie still co-parents with them and Bubblegum views her as a third mum.

Bubblegum’s relationship with Rainbow Dash is pretty solid, they love pulling pranks together and have a playful relationship.
The only real arguments they have are over Lightning Dust, where Rainbow tends to side with her girlfriend.

Pinkie Pie
Bubblegum has a really good relationship with Pinkie Pie and loves to stay over with her on weekends. She finds it really easy to talk to her about relationship problems with her due to the fact that she isn’t really involved.
She actually got her cutie mark when helping Pinkie make a batch of bubblegum.

Lightning Dust
Bubblegum has a.. complicated relationship with her stepmother. Lightning does care about her, but has difficulty communicating that, although she doesn’t outwardly show as much affection to Bubblegum (she finds it easier to show appreciation through accomplishments), she cares for her just as much.
Bubblegum isn’t very good at perceiving emotions on others, even if she understands them, and as such she simply thinks Lightning Dust shuns her for not being blood family or as skilled as Comet Crash.
