I'm not saying Ancano was just a bastard, but I really hated this guy. He as a very nice double agent villian for the collage, and quite difficult to "take care of", and he was so far the only intriguing highelf I actually had second thoughts about killing.

I really wish we had gotten just a little more about Ancano's backstory and his personality fleshed out just a tiny bit more than the "snotty bastard who wants to kill everyone".Β I sense great potential was there for an intriguing, maybe even potentially sympathetic villain.

Concerning the Dragonborn Twins
The children of Ebornia I and Martin Septim were lost in the the mists of history after the death of Mara, Champion of the Nine; until the the appearance of Ebornia II who resembled the Ebornia of old,the Champion of Cyrodiil, but was quieter in temper, and less powerful with the flames that had made her forebearer so infamous. She served as ambassador to the Summerset Isles during the Great War, but she was kidnapped by the Thalmor and was tortured to gain information about the Empire. While she was imprisoned, she met a compassionate Thalmor, who sympathized with the Empire. They developed a close bond, and he helped her escape, and fled with her to the wilderness of Skyrim, where they married and hid from the clashing forces of the Empire and the Thalmor. While in their exile, Ebornia gave birth to twin girls, the famous Dovahkiin.

I always had a bad feeling about this guy ever since my Armored Nord character joined the college. Which made me picture my Nord squeezing Ancano's neck saying that he must be silenced before jabbing hisΒ Daedric Sword throughΒ the Altmer's back.
But to be fair, Ancano was a good bad guy in the College Questline.Β

Very dramatic scene, Ancano is the coolest thalmor and they got the coolest clothes of the Β NPCs. Great job.

I liked him, but at the same time, I didn't.
I knew that he would probably play a major part, let's face it, almost everyone with their own voice actor does, but at the same time, I was hoping he wasn't.
I can not explain my like for this mer, but I just wish that you could have talked him down rather than killed him.

Other than him being a Thalmor, whose group goals are the domination of Tamriel, enslavement and elimination of man, beast, and 'imperfect' mer, and quite possibly the unmaking of the mortal world itself in a deluded quest for godhood.

I think not all Thalmor are evil and wanted total domination... Their is lots of High Elves who live a pheasant lives like Nirenya and the stable owner in Windhelm whom his wife is murdered by the butcher.

Those are regular Altmer aka High Elves. The Thalmor are a political party/radical ideology that is in complete domination of Altmeri society and government, much like the National Socialist Party was in control of German society and government from 1933-1945.
For example, Heinrich Himmler was a Nazi (head of the SS), while random Wehrmacht soldier #87 is in all likelihood not a member of the Nazi party.
