I saw Azealia Banks' Aquababe single cover [link] and decided to draw her. Then I draw Yuyi/Gaga laying in an invisible bath tub ...Then I drew Paris as her mermaid self from her Siren fragrance [link] and then for reasons unknown.. I drew Lana Del Rey as a mermaid but half jellyfish instead of half fish. I felt that suited her better. I honestly have no idea.tumblr: [link]

Ohhh.. interesting question. Uhmm, it's super hard to answer. I'm happy with the way I draw, and I'm glad I draw in a way that is super natural to me. I like that I've found my own little way of doing things. I'd love if I was a better drawer because tbh, I know that I'm not... but I'm okay with that for the most part. I think maybe what's likeable about what my drawings is that they're honest. Hrmph, i don't know. It's hard. I like what I do as much as I dislike what I do.

Tim Burton and Quentin Blake are the ones that inspired and influenced me a massive amount. Also fashion design illustrations are a huge influence

The idea of mermaids that are half-something other than a fish has always been a really enchanting one for me, and you've done it beautifully here with Lana. Of course, the others are gorgeous too! Great work!

I wasn't sure how to do Lana's tail because I felt like it should been really dreamy.. so I just thought of the dresses she normally wears and I was like, ohh jellyfish! I'm glad you like it. I might explore some other different kinds of mermaids. I love drawing them.
