Description 24X 36 acrylic painting.
by far my favorite. ^_^

the colors are pretty true as well, hurray!

the little brown circles hanging from the design on the right hand side are coffee beans, their detail is more visible closer up.

I love the way you did the steam. Ironically, my coffee pot is nearly done with my brew...

I really love the way the background streaks so smoothly and the natural tones everywhere. It's very calming to look at. ^^

How did you keep the cat and the cup so nice and white? =O Was it just painted white after everything else was finished? It's very nicely done.

thanks! Yes, i was going for calming when i did it. the two most calming things are coffee and my cat. ^_^
i painted the background first then 'sketched' in the cat and cup with very very very watered down white acrylic paint, so any mystakes would be easy to cover up. then i did, i dunno about 4-6 layers of an off white. I tend to work at two paintings at once, so doing layers is less of a pain. i just do one layer, then work on the other painting, then come back and do another layer, then the other painting again. Also, these hot days we've been having in Maine really help too, the paint dries uber fast. I have to pay attention or the acrylic on my pallet dries up before i use it all. heh. ^_^'
