No, Ambystoma tigrinum was split into 3 species, A. tigrinum, A. californiense, and A. mavortium. A. californiense is restricted to California, while everything else west of eastern Kansas is A. mavortium. This is definitely A. mavortium.

These guys were on my list for a long time, and it took me years to finally see one. Now I know how to look for them, and turning them up is much easier.
