Meixiu of the Sunset Snow

This is this week's redesigned protagonist and foil to my earlier design for Chu-Jung and Emperor.
Was influenced by the costuming of those awesome Mandarin film operas (Curse of the Golden Flower is win.)

As an awesome turn of events, these last few weeks I get to dedicate my time to hashing out a few paintings of the post-apocalyptic stepped world of my Emperor series.

I won't go into much boring detail, but Meixiu is the the warden of Chu-Jung's sister kingdom. They have built up a small, concentrated swath of townships that are run exclusively on ancient windmills dotting the snowy mountainsides- as a direct contrast to Chu-Jung's fiefdom, that exclusively employs slave-labor in age-old coal mines to tap the last remaining fossil fuel resources left from the World's War.
