Sorry I took so long, guys! That was not expected! Let’s just say I’ve been doing some personal art... (ehem- Sonic OC)
Anyway, here’s Red, the corrupted leader of the Machinists! In Spyro: Fractured, Red willingly let Gnasty Gnorc use his homeworld as his base, for Red had thought the Dragons would be fighting a losing war. After being oppressed for some time, the Machinists revolted against their Gnorc overlords and their leader. This lead to ‘the battle of Power Station (an unofficial Machinists level). Many Machinists, along with the remaining dragons of the other realms, fought against Red and his Gnorc Army. Many loyal Machinists fought with Red, including Drobot. As this fight was going on, Spyro was able to enter the not as heavily guarded base and kill Gnasty, leading to a decisive victory for the dragons. Red continued to rule the homeworld, but many dragons no longer excepted him. They formed underground rebellions and plots, forging a break in Machinist government, and unrest throughout the land.
How did Red get this position as leader, anyway? Red, along with a few other potential leaders, were being personally trained by Aluminum, the past leader. Red was constantly picked on by his fellow students, due to him having a limp, useless wing. He had damaged it in an explosion caused by a failed generator. To show the others he was not a fool, Red fixed his wing using left over metal from their projects. His reputation was renewed. One fateful afternoon, Aluminum died of an unknown cause. His final request was unfinished, but it went like, “Red... Red would make a great...” and then he passed on. Now, what the dragons didn’t know was that he was going to finish the line as, “Engineer, but not a leader. He’s too easily swayed to the wrong side. Do not let him lead.” But stupid dragons took his unfinished request as a green light to nominate him leader. Red had many ideas on how to channel energy through crystals, and bring the homeworld into a modern age. The dragons loved this idea, and encouraged Red to continue with his goals. As Red was perfecting his idea, a hooded stranger approached him. The stranger told Red about Dark Gems, and how they channel the power of the Shadow Realm. Red, always looking for a way to brighten the Machinist Lands, listened to this stranger and began working on ways to generate energy from these gems. At first everything was well, but after long hours in the workplace, Red’s mind was altered by the dark energy of the crystals. His plan went from seeking clean energy to seeking unlimited power. He made himself a staff powered by the Dark Gems, a weapon of limitless energy, and started running the land with an iron claw. By the time Gnasty Gnorc came around, Red was so power hungry that he would do anything to hang onto his might. His choice to side with Gnasty eventually led to the division of Machinists. But The stranger had foreseen this Fracture all those years ago. He was the ultimate cause of it. After all, he was the one that killed Aluminum all those years ago.
