Frosted-Feather [2012-05-05 01:36:18 +0000 UTC]

may I ask how you did the hoof prints in the sand?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Liopard In reply to Frosted-Feather [2012-05-05 11:18:28 +0000 UTC]

Sure (:
I made a new layer and used 3 colours (a highlight, midtone and shadow) that matched the sand's colour. Then I gradually built up the colours around the hooves themselves until it looked 3D (using the paintbrush tool and dodge/burn). Then I simply copied the left hind's print and pasted it in around the same places where the hoof prints would have been left. Then I used the perspective, re-sizing and brightness/contrast tools to adjust them to the correct size/colour for the type of sand and distance they were (:
That's a brief explanation.. If I have time I may make a quick tutorial in the future if you like ^^
